How do you plant your plants?

If you are planting a swim pond the marginals, are planted in the regeneration zone directly in to the gravel bed. If its a natural pond then you can plant directly into the submerged bank. Its easier to plant a swim pond when the water is just below the planting area, then fill the pond to its maximum fill level once compete. Don’t let the plants dry out! First place all the plants in location which will suit their ideal planting depth, to deep and the plants will not grow. Next dig a small whole the same size as the pot, then remove the plant and place it into the the whole, then fill in around the plant and firm in.

Oxygenators

Oxygenating plants are, wholly or partly, underwater pond plants. They have submerged leaves and perform a number of important roles in the pond. These plants are known as oxygenators because during the day they absorb carbon dioxide from the water and give off oxygen. Another useful thing these plants do is to absorb minerals from the water. This process conditions the pond water. It helps to maintain a healthy balance in your pond and to reduce unwanted algae by taking up dissolved nutrients.
